#Zomato to Remove AI-Generated Food Images, Announces CEO

Zomato has announced a significant decision to remove AI-generated food and dish images from its platform, following numerous customer complaints. CEO Deepinder Goyal took to social media platform X to share this update, highlighting that AI-generated images have been misleading customers, leading to increased refund requests and lower customer ratings. Goyal emphasized that such practices violate the trust between customers and restaurants.

To maintain transparency and authenticity, Zomato is urging restaurant partners to avoid using AI-generated images in their menus. The company has pledged to remove all such images by the end of this month. Restaurant owners and internal marketing teams have been advised to stop using AI-generated images for marketing purposes. Zomato also stated that it will not accept AI-generated food images in the future.

Goyal encouraged restaurant owners to invest in real food photography and provided a contact for scheduling a photo shoot with Zomato's catalogue support team. He also clarified that this ban extends to Zomato's marketing teams as well.
