YS Sharmila, leading the Congress party's campaign in Andhra Pradesh, has been consistently targeting Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. During a recent rally in Madakasira, Anantapur district, Sharmila questioned the efficacy of CM Jagan's governance. She accused him of being aloof and not addressing the people's problems, particularly criticizing his lack of engagement with public issues except during elections.
Sharmila contrasted Jagan's administration with that of her late father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, highlighting the stark differences in their approaches to governance. She reminisced about the 'Praja Darbar' held during YSR's time, lamenting its absence in the current regime. Additionally, she pointed out the unfulfilled promises regarding the completion of the Handri-Neeva project, which was nearly finished during YSR's tenure but saw no progress under Jagan.
Sharmila also criticized Jagan for failing to secure special category status for Andhra Pradesh, which she argues could have been a boon for the state's industrial development and employment generation. She ended her speech by asserting that the Congress party is the only viable option for reinstating special status and genuinely addressing the needs of the people in Andhra Pradesh.
