YCP Offices Get Notices.. AP High Court's Decision Creates Tension

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has reserved its judgment on the continuous notices issued to YCP offices. The situation has intensified with the recent notices to the party offices in Undi and Palnadu, leading the YCP to approach the court again. The court has now attached these new petitions to the previous ones and reserved its decision, maintaining the status quo.

In Andhra Pradesh, the YCP offices are under scrutiny as officials allege that several district party offices constructed during the last YCP government are illegal. Recently, notices were served to the offices in Undi and Palnadu, prompting the YCP to file a lunch motion petition in the High Court. The court has tagged these new petitions to the older ones and reserved its judgment. However, it stated that the status quo on the new petitions would continue.

Previously, the High Court granted a status quo on approximately 16 offices while reserving its judgment. The officials have issued notices alleging illegal construction and violation of regulations, claiming that government lands have been encroached upon by YCP offices.

Notably, some offices, including the central office in Tadepalli, Guntur district, are under construction, and a few offices have already been demolished. In response to these developments, the YCP sought judicial intervention, resulting in the court reserving its judgment. Until further orders, the status quo on the 16 YCP office notices will remain.

The YCP's lawyer argued in court that the demolition of opposition party offices was politically motivated. On the other hand, AP's Advocate General (AG) Dammalapati Srinivas argued that the officials issued notices only to seek clarification on the ongoing constructions and would take a final decision after receiving the responses. He mentioned that if there were any objections to the final decision, they should then approach the court. He contended that the initial petitions filed by YCP against the notices were not eligible for hearing. The High Court's decision to reserve its judgment has created tension and anticipation.
