🌏 Bangladesh's interim government, led by Chief Mohammad Yunus, expressed its desire to maintain good relations with India. Recently, Yunus met with students and other groups involved in protests in Bangladesh. Responding to a question during this interaction, Yunus stated, "We want to continue good relations with India, but they must be based on equality and transparency." This statement was reported by the government-run BSS news agency, quoting Yunus's aide Mahfuz Alam.
🤝 Yunus emphasized that Bangladesh values mutual respect in its relations with neighboring countries and called for the revival of SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation). Mahfuz Alam also mentioned that Yunus stressed the importance of cooperation between South Asian countries for regional stability and development.
🚨 Meanwhile, the "International Crimes Tribunal" in Bangladesh announced on Sunday that steps are being taken to bring back former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India amid violence in the country. The interim government has filed cases against Hasina and others, accusing them of committing mass murders to suppress student protests. The tribunal is planning to apply for arrest warrants against all those in hiding, including Hasina. The tribunal's Chief Prosecutor, Tajul Islam, said, "We are going to apply for arrest warrants for all fugitives, including Hasina. There is an agreement between the two countries for the extradition of suspects."
