Wayanad Heroics: Major Seeta Shelke and Her Team's Daring Rescue Mission! 🚁


A devastating landslide in Wayanad, Kerala, left many stranded and in need of immediate rescue. Amid this disaster, Major Seeta Shelke made headlines for leading a remarkable rescue operation by constructing a 190-foot-long bridge in record time. As part of the Indian Army’s Madras Engineers Group, Major Seeta Shelke played a pivotal role in the rescue efforts.

Under the leadership of Major Seeta Shelke and Major Anish, the team constructed a 190-foot-long bridge with a 24-ton capacity in just 16 hours, garnering widespread praise. The bridge construction began at 9 PM on July 31 and was completed by 5:30 PM on August 1, facilitating the swift evacuation and aid delivery to affected areas.

Major Shelke and her engineering team worked tirelessly amidst numerous challenges to ensure the bridge was completed on time, enabling faster and easier transportation to the impacted regions. Their technical skills, dedication, and bravery in such critical situations highlighted the essential role of female officers in the Indian Army.

Defense Ministry spokesperson Bharat Bhushan commended the effort as a testament to women’s empowerment and unity during challenging times. Many military officials and netizens have also saluted Major Seeta Shelke and her team for their incredible work and determination.
