Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested today by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after raids were conducted at his residence. Khan, the MLA from Okhla constituency in Delhi, is accused of being involved in money laundering. The ED alleges that he was involved in irregularities related to the appointments made in the Delhi Waqf Board. In the past, Amanatullah Khan had served as the chairman of the Waqf Board.
This morning, around 6:30 AM, Khan tweeted about the ED arriving at his residence to arrest him. The ED officials confirmed that they had gone to his house as part of the search operation. In connection with this case, Khan had also been summoned and questioned for about 13 hours earlier.
The ED's actions come as part of an investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering linked to the Waqf Board appointments, where Khan is accused of having played a significant role in these alleged irregularities.
