Uttarakhand Bans Videos, Reels within 50 Meters of Temples

Uttarakhand is witnessing a surge in devotees participating in the sacred Char Dham Yatra. With the reopening of Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, pilgrims are flocking to these holy sites to seek blessings. However, many devotees are creating reels and videos in the temple premises, which has prompted the Uttarakhand government to announce new guidelines.

According to the new guidelines released by the Uttarakhand government, pilgrims are now prohibited from filming videos or creating reels within a 50-meter radius of the Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath temples. The decision was made in response to concerns that such activities are diminishing the spiritual experience of the pilgrimage.

The government noted that large groups of devotees gathering for video shoots, playing loud music, and other such activities are disrupting the tranquility of these sacred sites and causing inconvenience to other pilgrims. The Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, Radha Raturi, emphasized that preserving the sanctity of the temples and ensuring convenience for all pilgrims is the primary goal of this ban.

Today, the Chief Minister conducted a detailed review of the Char Dham arrangements in Dehradun. He confirmed that orders have been issued to prevent anyone from filming videos or making reels within the specified 50-meter radius of the temple premises. Any actions that offend the religious sentiments of devotees will be strictly prohibited.
