Everyone in the industry dreams of working with Rajamouli, but Trisha, the Chennai beauty, turned down his offer. When Rajamouli approached her for Maryada Ramanna to pair up with comedian-turned-hero Sunil, she rejected it. Trisha, already a star heroine then, felt it wasn’t right for her to act opposite a comedian in a lead role, even if it was a Rajamouli film. This led Rajamouli to start looking for new heroines, eventually casting Saloni in the movie.
