As a result, several members of the Malayalam Movie Artists Association have resigned in response to the ongoing controversies, including serious accusations against senior actors like Siddique.
In a recent shocking revelation, transwoman actress Anjali Ameer accused popular Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu of asking her an inappropriate question during the shooting of her first film, "Peranbu." Anjali disclosed that during a shoot, Suraj approached her and asked, "Do transgenders experience sexual satisfaction the same way as regular women?" This question made Anjali very uncomfortable.
She shared that she reported the incident to superstar Mammootty and the film’s director. Following this, Suraj apologized to Anjali for his inappropriate remarks. The incident has added fuel to the ongoing discussions about harassment in the Malayalam film industry, raising questions about respect and sensitivity towards trans individuals in the industry.
