Thieves Target Ayodhya! Over 3,800 Lights Stolen from Temple Pathway

In a shocking incident, thieves have stolen over 3,800 bamboo lights and 36 gobo projector lights installed along the Ram Path and Bhakti Path in Ayodhya. The lights were part of an effort to beautify the area around the Ram temple, as part of the Yogi Adityanath government’s Smart City initiative. The theft was reported by temple trust officials, who lodged a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of an FIR.

The lights, installed by Yash Enterprises and Krishna Automobiles under a contract from the Ayodhya Development Authority, were meant to enhance the aesthetic appeal of key locations like Naya Ghat, Hanuman Garhi, and Tedhi Bazaar. The theft reportedly occurred between March 19 and May 9, when a routine check revealed the missing lights.

Despite the installation of these lights in highly visible tourist areas, the thieves managed to steal them without being noticed. Police are currently investigating the incident, and efforts are underway to track down the culprits.
