In Telangana, the dream of the poor, who have been eagerly waiting for years, is about to come true. The Congress government is all set to start the process of issuing new ration cards. It has been accepting applications for new ration cards since December 28 last year. Apart from this, applications are also received for changes, additions and correction of errors in the existing ration cards. The government hopes to identify those who are below the poverty line and select the new ration card holders in the Gram Sabha itself. 🌐
Not a single new ration card was issued for six years under the previous government. No opportunity was given to register the names in the existing cards. Applicants are left waiting. Apart from ration, ration cards have become mandatory for services like Arogyasree. As new ration cards are not issued, lakhs of poor people are unable to get the services. The Congress government has increased the limit to 10 lakhs under the Arogyasree scheme. Lakhs of poor people are not able to avail Arogyashree scheme as the eligible poor people do not have ration cards and do not get the opportunity to register their names in the existing ones. 😔💉
Around 50 thousand applications for new ration cards are already pending from each district. Apart from this, 60,000 to 90,000 applications are pending in the respective districts for the registration of children's names in the food security cards. Based on this calculation, it seems that 9 lakh more ration card applications are pending across the state. With this, the Congress government has started the exercise of issuing white ration cards to all those who are eligible. 📜👨👩👧👦
