While the states of Tamil Nadu and West Bengal banned this movie due to security reasons, the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh declared tax exemption for this movie. Heroine Adasharma said that The Kerala Story will be released simultaneously in 37 countries on May 12. In this regard, Adah Sharma shared a post on social media and thanked all those who supported the film and the role she played. Adasharma was pleased. The story revolves around three young women who convert and later join ISIS. However, it has led to controversy by portraying the missing terrorist as being trained and working for terrorist activities in India as well as around the world. The movie is directed by Sudeeptosen and produced by Vipul Amritalal Shah. Along with Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani played pivotal roles.
