The Curse Of Gandhari Impact On Afghanistan

Many say that the Gandhara kingdom during the Mahabharata period is today's Afghanistan. Proof of this is that a city in that country is still called Kandahar. This word is derived from Gandhara. It means 'land of fragrances'. This term is mentioned in various ancient texts like Rigveda, Mahabharata, Uttara-Ramayana. Gandhara is one of the names of Lord Shiva according to Sahasranama. It is also believed that the first inhabitants of Gandhara were Shiva devotees.

According to mythological stories, Gandhari, the mother of the Kauravas, cursed Lord Krishna and the entire city of Dwarka was submerged in the sea. Along with this, Gandhari also cursed her brother Shakuni. Because Gandhari attributed the death of her sons to her brother Shaku. King Gandhara who killed 100 of his sons cursed Shakuni that no one will live forever in the kingdom.. There will be no peace here, there will always be sufferings.. There will be an atmosphere of blood. It is believed that there will never be an atmosphere of peace in Afghanistan due to the curse given by Gandhari with grief. After the Taliban took power, there was no peace even before. No matter who has ruled this country till now, the natives have not lived without tension and quarrels. All these reasons are believed to be due to the effect of Gandhari's curse.
