Amidst rising violence in Bangladesh, the country's temporary government chief, Mohammad Yunus, has issued a stern warning to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has taken refuge in India. Yunus criticized Hasina for making political statements while being in India, stating that it is inappropriate and could strain relations between both nations. He urged that she should remain silent until Dhaka requests India to hand her over. In his interview with PTI, Yunus discussed several key issues, highlighting that India's support for Hasina might lead to instability.
Yunus also mentioned that apart from the Awami League, all other parties in Bangladesh are Islamist parties, and India should abandon the notion that without Hasina, Bangladesh would turn into another Afghanistan. He claimed that Hasina's presence in India is causing discomfort, and efforts are being made to bring her back to Bangladesh.
