It has been announced that there are 3,28,29,498 voters in Telangana in the draft list. Objections on the list of voters will be received till 22nd of this month.
The Central Election Commission has released the list of voters in Telangana. There are 1,64,01,046 male voters and 1,64,25,784 female voters out of total 3.28 crore voters in the state. It announced that there are 2,668 third gender voters.
Compared to the recently held assembly elections, another six lakh voters have increased. The Election Commission has revealed that 35,356 polling stations have been set up in the general elections.
As part of the revision of the voter list, applications were received from December 20 to January 5 for those who have completed 18 years of age by January 1, 2024. A total of 11,99,850 applications were received for registration of new voters, additions of changes.
In this, 7,69,048 people applied for new vote. 2,90,123 people applied for cancellation of vote and 1,40,679 people applied for change of address. After scrutinizing the applications, the draft list is published.
The Election Commission has announced that objections to the draft voter list can be submitted by the 22nd of this month. He said that specially the booth level officials will be available all over Telangana on 20th and 21st of this month to express objections.
It was revealed that objections on the draft list can be raised at the polling stations, and the objections on the list will be received and the objections will be resolved by February 2. Officials of the Central Election Commission advised that the final voter list will be announced on February 8 and voters should check once again whether their vote is in the list.
