Telangana Martyrs Memorial is ready

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will inaugurate the 'Amara Deepam - Telangana Martyrs' Memorial Centre' today (Thursday) as part of the Telangana State Formation decennial celebrations.

This memorial is a tribute to the people of Telangana who sacrificed their lives for the cause of statehood. The six floor structure is built near Lumbini Park, opposite the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat in Hyderabad. It is constructed using 1,600 tonnes of stainless steel and resembles an earthen lamp in an elliptical shape. The memorial spans an area of 26,800 square meters and stands 45 meters above ground level, with one side reaching a height of 26 meters and the other side 18 meters. The construction cost of the memorial is approximately Rs 177.5 crore. It features various facilities such as parking, a museum, a photo gallery, an audiovisual room, a convention hall, a restaurant, and a view point. The memorial aims to evoke a sense of pride among the Telangana community.
