The Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions have been adjourned indefinitely after a productive five-day meeting. During these sessions, CM Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP released several white papers on various issues. Among the significant announcements was the increase in pensions to ₹4000. Naidu reminded everyone that the pension had previously been raised from ₹200 to ₹2000, and now it has been further increased as promised during the election campaign. In the first month, ₹7000 pension was provided as per the campaign promise.
Naidu highlighted the state's progress, mentioning the transition from power shortages to surplus electricity. He also pointed out the successful water transfer from Godavari to Krishna through the Pattiseema project, which the previous government did not operate. On the issue of Amaravati, Naidu criticized the previous rulers for their mismanagement and proudly stated that 34,400 acres of land were acquired without disputes.
He mentioned his efforts to bring investments to Hyderabad and the commitment to complete the Polavaram project within three years, despite the increased costs due to the previous government's handling. Naidu accused the former administration of causing significant financial losses, including ₹7,000 crores due to illegal sand mining and ₹1.29 lakh crores in the power sector. He revealed that the state debt stands at ₹9.74 lakh crores, with a per capita debt of ₹1.44 lakhs, while the per capita income is ₹74,000.
Further details will be released, Naidu said, as he criticized the previous government's complete mismanagement of various systems and mortgaging of assets in Visakhapatnam. The session concluded with Speaker Ayanna Patrudu adjourning the assembly indefinitely.
