T20WorldCup: India's Bowler Woes Before the Big Game!

As the T20 World Cup approaches, Team India is soon expected to announce its squad. While the batsmen from the Indian team have shown promising performances in IPL 2024, the bowlers are causing some concern. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh are anticipated to be the key fast bowlers for the T20 World Cup. However, except for Bumrah, the performance of the other two in the IPL has not been up to the mark.

Let's dive into the IPL 2024 stats to understand why Siraj and Arshdeep might be worrying for India. Siraj played 7 matches but could only manage to take 5 wickets, with an alarming economy rate of 10.34. His rhythm seems off, and his line and length have been inconsistent this season. This form raises serious concerns about his readiness for the World Cup.

Arshdeep Singh, playing for Punjab Kings, also had a less-than-ideal IPL season, taking only 10 wickets in 8 matches at an economy rate of 9.40. With both key bowlers out of form, the anxiety within Team India is palpable.

While Jasprit Bumrah has been exceptional, taking 13 wickets in 8 matches with an economy rate of 6.37, Team India cannot rely solely on him. The other bowlers need to regain their form quickly as the clock ticks down to the World Cup.
