Suryakumar Yadav Injured! Will He Miss the Duleep Trophy? 🤕

Team India's T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav, known as "Mr. 360," may have to wait longer for his dream of making it to the Test team. While playing for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu Tournament, Surya unexpectedly got injured, making his availability for the upcoming Duleep Trophy uncertain. During the third day of the semi-final match against Tamil Nadu, Surya injured his right hand while fielding, forcing him to stay in the dressing room.

The injury was severe enough to keep Surya from batting on the fourth day. Unfortunately, Mumbai lost to Tamil Nadu by 286 runs in this match. With players like Ravindra Jadeja, and pacers Mohammad Siraj, and Umran Malik already out of the Duleep Trophy due to injuries, Suryakumar might also join this list. If this happens, his dream of returning to the Test team might take a hit. The Duleep Trophy is set to begin in Anantapur on September 3.

Suryakumar has a solid record in first-class cricket. In 137 innings, he has scored 14 centuries and 29 half-centuries, amassing a total of 5,628 runs at a strike rate of 63.74. Surya is eager to prove himself in red-ball cricket again. If he had performed well in the Buchi Babu Tournament, he could have earned a chance to wear the Test jersey again.

However, Surya has not been in great form in ODIs and recently disappointed during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he managed only 8 runs, losing his place in the team. As for his captaincy, he led India to a 3-0 T20 series win in Sri Lanka, which was a big hit.
