The Supreme Court of India has formed a committee to address the issues of farmers protesting at the Shambhu border between Punjab and Haryana. The committee will be led by Justice Nawab Singh, a judge from the Punjab and Haryana High Court. A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan heard the case today and directed the committee to hold its first meeting within a week. šļø
The Supreme Court has also advised farmers to stay away from political parties and not allow their protests to be politicized. The Court suggested that authorities hold meetings to gradually remove the barricades set up at the Shambhu border. It is well-known that Punjab farmers were stopped at the Shambhu border while trying to enter Delhi. The Supreme Court also urged the farmers not to fall for unfulfilled promises. š«
The Court suggested that the protesters consider moving their demonstrations to alternative locations. Justice Surya Kant emphasized that farmers should refrain from allowing their protests to be used for political purposes. ā
