Sunil Chhetri Plays His Last Match in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri played his final match against Kuwait in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, marking an emotional farewell for the 39-year-old star. A record crowd of 58,291 fans attended the match to honor Chhetri. Despite the intense battle, neither team managed to score.

After the match, an emotional Chhetri thanked his fans for their unwavering support. His teammates gave him a guard of honor, celebrating his illustrious career. Over nearly two decades, Chhetri played 151 matches and scored 94 goals, becoming the fourth-highest goal scorer in international football, following Cristiano Ronaldo, Ali Daei, and Lionel Messi. India's next and final game in the second round qualifiers is against Qatar on June 11th.
