Double Olympian and celebrated shooter Manu Bhaker, who made history by winning two medals at the Paris Olympics, is basking in her well-deserved success. Bhaker, the first Indian player to win two medals in a single Olympics after India's independence, is receiving overwhelming recognition wherever she goes. On Tuesday, she was the chief guest at a special event organized by Velammal Nexus School in Chennai.
Speaking to the students, Bhaker reflected on her journey, saying, "My shooting journey began with the Tokyo Olympics. Competing as the world’s second-ranked shooter, I didn’t perform up to my potential. But I’ve learned the difference between winning and losing. This is the beauty of sports—you can always come back and win after a loss. But it all depends on how hard you work."
She encouraged the students to consider sports as a career, emphasizing, "To achieve your dreams, you have to work hard. There are many career options available to us, but sports offer a beautiful life. Along with financial support, sports can provide you with everything you need. Today, I stand where I am because of my mother. Her encouragement is unforgettable. If anyone wants to achieve something, they need the support of their parents at home and teachers at school."
