South Africa create unwanted record after Mohammed Siraj’s six-wicket haul🏏

South Africa were blown away in Siraj storm during their first innings of the ongoing second Test against India at the Newlands in Cape Town as the pacer ran riot with a sensational six-wicket haul.

Mohammed Siraj ran riot with the ball as he picked up his maiden six-wicket haul and recorded his best-ever Test figures to help India bowl South Africa out for a paltry 55 in their first innings of the ongoing second Test between the two sides at the Newlands in Cape Town. Siraj single-handedly ran through the Proteas batting line-up to finish with excellent figures of 6/15 off just 9 overs.

The right-arm pacer got India off to a flyer after South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first in the second and final Test of the two-match series. Siraj struck early to get rid of opener Aiden Markram cheaply in the 4th over before dismissing the centurion from the last game, Dean Elgar on just 4 off 15 balls. There was no stopping Siraj after the twin early wickets as the pacer breathed fire with the ball.

Thanks to the fiery start from the pacer, skipper Rohit Sharma offered him an extended opening spell and the move paid off as Siraj finished with stunning figures of 6/15 from just 9 overs. After breaking the back of South Africa’s batting line-up by removing Markram and Elgar, Siraj went on to pick up the important wickets of Tony de Zorzi, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen to complete his maiden six-wicket haul in Tests.

Siraj inflicted a chaotic collapse on the South African batting line-up as the hosts were left with nowhere the hide against the brilliance of Indian pacers. He was well supported by Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar, who picked up two wickets each to help India bundle out South Africa for just 55 runs inside 23.2 overs in the very first session on Day 1.

South Africa create unwanted record

South Africa created an unwanted record after being bowled out for 55 runs as they recorded the lowest-ever total by any team against India in Tests. The Proteas surpassed New Zealand’s 61-run total in a Test match against India in Mumbai in 2021. South Africa also registered their lowes-ever Test total in an innings since their readmission to Test cricket in 1991, going past the 73 they scored against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2018.🏏
