Software Industry is Changing More Opportunities for These Skills

The IT job has always been a dream for many. Many aspire to land a job through campus placements right after completing their B.Tech. If not, they opt for some courses to gain expertise and secure a job. But now, the situation is changing. Jobs are evolving with technology, and companies are focusing on employee skills. Amidst global layoff news, the platform Levels.FYI has revealed some key insights.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage has become indispensable in the tech industry. AI is being utilized across nearly all sectors, which means software employees must update their skills. The days of settling with just one course are over. Employees must stay updated. Global giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta are keen on hiring engineers with AI expertise.

Despite fears of job losses, those skilled in AI are being paid higher salaries. According to Levels.FYI’s recent report, engineers with AI skills earn 50% more than regular software engineers. As of last month, the average annual salary for AI-skilled software engineers in the US was around ₹2,49,31,650. They are paid about $100,000 more than regular IT employees.

Two years ago, the salary difference between AI experts and regular software engineers was 30%, but now it has reached 50%. This clearly indicates the demand for AI experts in the coming days. Experts suggest that to avoid job losses and earn better salaries, employees must develop AI-related skills.
