Shock for Ajay Devgn: 'Maidaan' Movie Faces Court Stay Before Release..

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's much-anticipated film 'Maidaan,' set for a global release on April 11, has hit a legal hurdle. Directed by Amit Sharma, this sports drama faced a last-minute shock as a court issued a stay on its release.

A Mysore-based writer, Anil Kumar, approached the court claiming the movie's story as his own. Consequently, a Mysore court imposed a stay on the release of 'Maidaan.' "In 2018, I posted about this story on LinkedIn and discussed it with a person named Sukhdas Suryavanshi. I registered it in my name in February 2019. Now, my original story has been copied and named 'Maidaan.' Justice has been served in the Mysore court," said the complainant, Kiran Kumar. The film's team has the option to appeal against this injunction. 'Maidaan,' directed by Amit Sharma, is a joint production by Jio Studios and Boney Kapoor. Ajay Devgn and Priyamani are among the cast.

'Maidaan' is inspired by the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, a coach who significantly contributed to Indian football. The film team stated that it showcases his services and efforts towards Indian football. Following the success of 'Shaitaan,' Ajay Devgn has high expectations for this film, which has already seen special premiere shows and received positive reviews. However, the court's decision has come as a shock to the 'Maidaan' team.
