📅 The Supreme Court has issued a sensational decision on the abrogation of Article 370. Five Jaddis are reading their opinion on the Centre's decision.
Three of the five judges dissented. It has made it clear that the Center cannot interfere in the decision on Article 370. Chief Justice Chandrachud read out the verdict. It said that there was no special status when Kashmir was annexed to India. It explained that Kashmir does not have a separate sovereignty. 📅 It was formed on Article 370. The judgment said that they are also temporary requirements. It concluded that Jammu and Kashmir is equal to the rest of the states in the country. 📅 The Center said that the decision to abrogate Article 370 is constitutional. It explained that Article 370 was framed due to the special circumstances of the time and the war. It concluded that there was no malice behind the cancellation of the article. It ruled that it was a temporary arrangement and not permanent. All rights in the constitution apply to Jammu and Kashmir. CJI said that they are allowing to make Ladakh a Union Territory. The Supreme Court has issued important directions to the Election Commission to hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been ordered by September 30, 2024.
👨⚖️ Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Supreme Court's decision. This is a historic decision. A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on August 5, 2019, accepted the decision taken by Parliament as correct. The Prime Minister said on Twitter that he feels that this decision will not only bring hope to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, but also contribute to their progress and unity. 🙌🇮🇳
