🏏 Mumbai Police has registered a case against a gaming site's Facebook page after Sachin Tendulkar raised concerns over a deepfake video that falsely showed the cricket legend promoting his gaming app, a police official said on Thursday.
An FIR has been registered under Section 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 66 (A) (sending offensive messages through communication service) of the IT Act on a complaint filed by the former cricketer's personal assistant in West, an official of the region's cyber police station said.
📡 Meanwhile.. when Sachin created a deepfake video promoting a gaming app called 'Skyward Aviator Quest'.. it went viral. After that, Sachin responded to this and explained that he is not the one in the video. He asked the government to take action on this. 🕵️♂️🚫
