#PuriVsHarish: The Key Difference Between Puri Jagannadh and Harish Shankar

Both Puri Jagannadh and Harish Shankar are talented and popular directors in Tollywood, with their own unique styles and fan bases. However, this August 15, they found themselves competing at the box office. Harish Shankar’s Mister Bachchan, starring Ravi Teja and Bhagya Shree Borse, went head-to-head with Puri Jagannadh’s Double iSmart, featuring Ram Pothineni and Kavya Thapar.

Despite the anticipation, both movies received negative reviews and struggled at the box office. The key difference between these two directors in this scenario lies in how they handled the pre-release hype and their reactions post-release.

Harish Shankar's Approach:

Before the release, Harish Shankar was vocal about his film, engaging in Twitter wars, holding press meets, and hyping up the film as a grand spectacle. His confidence and assertive promotion, however, backfired when Mister Bachchan didn’t meet expectations. This led to a significant amount of trolling on social media, with many criticizing Harish for overhyping a film that ultimately disappointed audiences.

Puri Jagannadh's Approach:

On the other hand, Puri Jagannadh maintained a more subdued approach before the release of Double iSmart. He refrained from excessive promotion or making bold claims about the film. Puri’s philosophy seemed to be simple: make the film, let the audience decide, and move on to the next project if it doesn’t work out. This approach helped him avoid the backlash that Harish Shankar faced. Puri's calm demeanor and his reputation for motivating others through his podcasts have earned him continued support from fans, even after a box office failure.

Conclusion:

The main takeaway from this comparison is that Puri Jagannadh’s reserved approach helped him maintain his reputation despite the film’s failure, while Harish Shankar’s outspoken nature led to greater criticism. Success and failure are part of the industry, but how one handles them can make all the difference.
