#PureGhee: Simple Tricks to Spot Adulteration 🧈🔍

Ghee is a staple in Indian kitchens, known for its rich flavor and numerous health benefits. However, with the rise of adulterated ghee in the market, it's crucial to ensure the ghee you consume is pure. Here are some simple tricks to help you identify genuine ghee from adulterated versions.

1. Water Test:

Take a glass of lukewarm water and add a teaspoon of ghee.

Stir it with a spoon. If the ghee is pure, it will dissolve and float on top of the water. Adulterated ghee, however, will not dissolve easily and may sink or form lumps.

2. Color Test:

Pure ghee typically has a light yellow color and is not greasy to the touch.

Adulterated ghee often appears white and feels more oily. You can compare market-bought ghee with homemade ghee by placing them in separate containers and observing the differences.

3. Iodine Solution Test:

Take a small amount of ghee in a bowl and add a few drops of iodine solution.

Wait for a few minutes. If the color changes, it could indicate the presence of starch, meaning the ghee is adulterated.

Why Pure Ghee Matters:

Pure desi ghee strengthens muscles, prevents dry skin, and aids digestion. It's particularly beneficial for children's bone development. Unlike adulterated ghee, which can be harmful, pure ghee offers numerous health benefits.

By following these simple tests, you can ensure that the ghee you’re consuming is authentic and packed with the goodness your body needs.
