Prime Minister Modi's announcement came a day after the Cabinet on Wednesday approved an increase of 8 per cent above the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane in the current season 2023-24. 📅 The revised FRP will come into effect from October 1, 2024.

He announced a significant, historic increase in the purchase price of sugarcane. 📊 It was highlighted that this decision will bring significant benefits to lakhs of sugarcane producing farmers in the country.
🚧 Meanwhile, the atmosphere of war continues in the borders of Delhi. Farmers who are pushing for a law on minimum support price for crops are not backing down. 🌾 With the completion of the deadline set by the Centre, they rushed towards Delhi from the Shambhu border on the Punjab-Haryana border. 🚔 They were stopped by the police and central forces.
