Panipuri Lovers, Beware! Shocking Truth Revealed by Food Safety Officials 🚨🥤

Panipuri is a beloved street food across India, especially among the youth who love its taste and affordability. But hold on to your hearts! Karnataka's food safety authorities have uncovered some shocking facts that might make you rethink your evening snack plans. Recent tests on Panipuri samples from various parts of the state revealed that 22% of the samples failed to meet safety standards.

Out of 260 samples collected, 41 contained carcinogenic substances, and 18 were deemed unfit for human consumption. The use of artificial colors like Brilliant Blue, Sunset Yellow, and Tartrazine (a synthetic yellow food dye derived from petroleum) was rampant, posing various health risks.

Food Safety Commissioner Srinivas K stated that they received numerous complaints about the quality of Panipuri sold in roadside stalls and reputed restaurants. He warned that these harmful additives could lead to serious health problems. Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao emphasized that ensuring food safety is a top priority and announced stringent measures against the use of such chemicals in food.

Tamil Nadu had also banned harmful chemicals in cotton candy earlier this year, highlighting the growing concern over food safety in the region.
