OsmaniaCrisis: Power Cuts Shake Telangana Govt; Students Rally!

Osmania University in Hyderabad has been making headlines due to unexpected power cuts, sparking a significant confrontation between the students and the university administration. The situation escalated when notices issued by the hostel wardens, instructing students to vacate due to lack of water and power supply, led to massive protests by the students. These students, many of whom are preparing for competitive exams, claimed that the power shortages were severely disrupting their studies.

Responding to the uproar, the Telangana government swiftly intervened, issuing a statement to clarify the situation. Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister, Bhatti Vikramarka, denied statewide power shortages, stating that the issued notices were based on misinformation. The government assured that continuous power was being supplied to the university from two dedicated 11kv feeders and that the claims of the chief warden about power and water shortages were false.

In a dramatic turn of events, former Chief Minister KCR highlighted the issue on Twitter, which prompted a quick reaction from the state government. Accusations flew from both sides, with KCR alleging that the power cuts were a severe issue under the current government. In retaliation, the university registrar issued a show-cause notice to the chief warden for causing unnecessary panic among students.

The controversy raises questions about the accountability of university officials and the actual conditions on campus. As tensions simmer, the community watches closely to see if this will lead to broader discussions about infrastructure and student welfare in state universities.
