Nara Chandrababu Naidu Supreme Court Delays Decision on Bail Cancellation Petition

Former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's bail cancellation petition faced a postponement in the Supreme Court. The Andhra Pradesh government had filed a petition to revoke his bail granted by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in a skill development scam case. The case was referred to a three-judge bench, pending a decision on a critical legal provision, Section 17A.

During the court proceedings, senior advocate Ranjit Kumar, representing the AP CID, explained that the charge sheet had been filed, but the court had not yet reviewed it due to the pending legal question regarding governmental permissions under Section 17A. The opposing counsel, senior advocate Siddharth Luthra, argued that the high court had granted bail without waiting for the Supreme Court's decision on this provision. He highlighted that Chandrababu Naidu had already spent 52 days in custody by the time the charge sheet was filed.

The justices expressed that they would wait for the determination of Section 17A by the three-judge bench before proceeding further. This delay indicates a complex legal battle ahead for the former chief minister, with significant political and legal implications.
