Dhari Devi Temple is located on the banks of Alakananda River between Srinagar and Rudraprayag in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. This temple is located at a distance of 14 km from Srinagar. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Devotees visit this temple every day to witness the miracles of the Goddess. It is a belief that the Dhari Devi here protects Chardham in Uttarakhand. Hence, Dhari Devi is worshiped as the protector of mountains and pilgrims. The top of the Dhari Devi idol is in this temple. But the lower half of the idol is in the Kalimata temple. Here she is worshiped as Goddess Kali.

It is believed that the idol of Dhari Devi in this temple changes its form three times a day. The idol of Dhari Devi looks like a girl in the morning, a young woman in the afternoon and an old woman in the evening. This scene of Dhari Devi idol changing form is really amazing.
Beliefs about the temple
Legend has it that once the Dhari Devi temple was washed away due to a severe flood. Along with this temple, the idol of Amma was also washed away. The idol came to rest after hitting a rock near Dharo village. It is said that a divine voice emanated from this idol and instructed the villagers to install the idol at the same place. After this the people of Dharo village got together and built Dhari Devi temple there. According to the priests, the idol of Dhari Devi was installed in the temple during the Dwapara Yuga.
A terrible flood destroyed the temple
It is said that the Dhari Devi temple was demolished in the year 2013 and her idol was also removed from the original site. Local people say that due to this, terrible floods occurred in Uttarakhand in the year 2013. In which thousands of people suffered. It is believed that the idol of Dhari Devi was removed on the evening of 16th June 2013 .. A few hours later the flood disaster hit the state. Later again the temple was built at the same place.🕉️✨
