The Prime Minister will attend the Universal Mahasabha of Madiga and Madiga subcastes organized by Madiga Reservation Struggle President Mandakrishna at the Madiga Parade Ground as the chief guest.
PM Modi will reach Begumpet Airport at 4:45 PM. From there you will go directly to the parade ground by road. They will participate in the meeting held at the parade ground from 5 pm to 5.45 pm. PM Modi will return to Delhi at 6 pm after the meeting. Mandakrishna Madiga called for this meeting to come in large numbers and make it successful.
The Madiga Reservation Struggle, formed with the demand of classifying SC reservations as ABCDs, has been fighting for almost three decades. Reservations were categorized by an ordinance in the year 2000 but in 2004 the Supreme Court overturned them due to some technical reasons. Since then, the Madiga Reservation Struggle Committee has been demanding the parties in power at the Center and the state to put a bill in the Parliament on classification. All the parties are promising to do classification but the bill is not being put in the parliament. The Mala castes in SC are objecting to this and the ruling parties are not going for it as it has the potential to be applied to all SC castes in the country. As per the promise given during the movement, when Chief Minister KCR came to power, he introduced a resolution in the Assembly on SC classification. All parties supported it. The resolution was sent to the Center by the Chief Minister. However, the BJP government has not introduced the bill till now. 🏛️📜
