The first underwater metro services in the country have become available..Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday started the metro train services in the tunnel built in the river Hooghly.
This underwater metro will run between Kolkata and Howrah. The services will be available from tomorrow. Before the inauguration of the underwater metro services, Prime Minister Modi visited the metro station in Calcutta. On this occasion, people raised slogans of 'Modi Modi', 'Jai Shri Ram' at the metro station in Kolkata. Prime Minister Modi was seen greeting them on this occasion. As part of this visit, Prime Minister Modi will lay foundation stones and inaugurate projects worth 15,400 crores.
Under the East-West Metro Corridor of the city of Kolkata, this underwater railway has been constructed under the river Hooghly at a cost of around Rs.120 crores. 16.6 km metro line was built between Kolkata East-West..in which 10.8 km. It is underground. Official sources said that around 7 lakh people travel in this metro train every day. While this project was proposed in 2009, the construction of this tunnel was completed in 2017. The first metro train in the country was started in Kolkata.. now this wonderful underwater metro rail services are also starting there..
