Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, rivers and waterfalls are overflowing, causing aquatic animals to wash into populated areas. Recently, in the coastal area of Chiplun in Ratnagiri district, an 8-foot crocodile emerged from a nearby river onto the road on Sunday night. Despite the traffic, the crocodile roamed freely, causing a stir. A video of the incident has gone viral, showing the crocodile moving confidently on the road, alarming the locals. š
Ratnagiri district is known for its marshy lands where many crocodiles, known as muggers, live. The continuous rainfall over the past few days has likely caused this crocodile to be washed out from the Shiva river. Coastal residents are urging the government to implement protective measures to prevent crocodiles from entering residential areas. š
A similar incident occurred recently in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, where a 10-foot crocodile emerged from a canal connected to the Ganges River. Authorities managed to capture and release it back into the water. š§ļø
