Though Rajinikanth is just doing a cameo in the film, it is being projected as a Rajinikanth film. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the Telugu dubbed version ‘Lal Salaam’ is set to join the list of too many films that are vying to capture the box office during the coming Sankranthi festive season. Mahesh Babu’s highly anticipated film, Guntur Kaaram, is the biggest of the lot. Prashant Varma’s “Hanuman,” Vijay Deverakonda’s collaboration with Parasuram, and Ravi Teja’s action-packed “Eagle,” have already confirmed Sankranthi release. Venkatesh’s Saindhav is also targeting Sankranthi season after Salaar occupied its Christmas date. Siva Kartthikeyan’s dub film Alien also recently announced its release date as Sankranthi. Now another dubbed film, ‘Lal Salaam’ is adding more chaos to the already messy situation. There are also talks that Sundar C’s horror comedy Aranmanai 4’s dubbed version will also be released around the same date. But the big question is how these dubbed films will get screens and shows given the overcrowded Sankranthi 2024 lineup dominated by Telugu films. Even Telugu films will be struggling to get screens and shows if all films stick to their plan. Accommodating dubbed films poses a huge challenge to distributors and exhibitors. If they manage to secure screens, it will compete with multiple releases, potentially impacting the box office collections of both the dubbed film and Telugu movies, as some theaters would be allocated to Alien and Lal Salaam. Lal Salaam, despite releasing after a blockbuster like Jailer, isn’t carrying much hype among the cine-goers. The reasons being Aishwarya Rajinikanth doesn’t have an impressive filmography as director and Rajinikanth’s look as Moideen Bhai in the film didn’t create any excitement.🎥🌟
