🌪️ Cyclone and floods have created terrible destruction in the African country of Libya. Hurricane Daniel caused devastating flooding. More than 2000 people have already died due to floods and rains. Most of the destruction is reported in the eastern region. Multi-storied buildings collapsed in the mud due to the storm.
There was destruction in many parts of Derna. Many were washed away and thousands went missing. Turkey offered to help Libya. Turkey has sent 3 planes filled with support teams and necessary equipment. Prime Minister Osama Hamad announced three days of mourning. Flags across the country were ordered to be flown at half mast. He said that due to the havoc created by Cyclone Daniel, there has been a huge destruction in Derna.. Now this city has been declared as a disaster zone. Osama Hamad, head of Libya's eastern parliament-backed administration, confirmed the death toll from the floods. Osama said that the situation in Libya is dire due to torrential rains.
🌊 Storm Danielle wreaked havoc. 🌍 According to CNN this rain is the result of a very strong low pressure remnant which has been officially named by the National Meteorological Organizations of Southeastern Europe...Storm Daniel. Last week the storm caused flooding in Greece before moving into the Mediterranean Sea. It also became a tropical storm called Medicane. 🌊
