When Janasena became part of BJP led alliance, JSP was termed as part of NDA. However when Telugu Desam Party joined NDA they were were careful about the terminology used. No where was it mentioned as NDA vs YSRCP, instead they presented it as Kutami Vs. YSRCP. It is very possible that in caste sensitive Andhra Pradesh this played a critical role. The moment TDP joined NDA, YSRCP would have hoped to get complete sveep of dalit and minority vote. However Chandrabu Naidu has smartly presented the alliance as just 'Kutami' thereby not bringing too much attention to NDA hindutuva politics, special status, steel plant stands that can effect the prospects of TDP. Use of term Kutami instead of NDA help ward off this negative effects. With YSRCP fear of attacking central government and they too using the term kutami and the media too using the term Kutami could have played a very pivotal role in the perception managment that helped TDP sweep Andhra Pradesh.
