However, Sudeep declined the offer, stating, "There are many who have served society far greater than I have. Please consider awarding the doctorate to them."

Naganand Swami, a water sports adventurer and social worker; another to G. Chandrasekhar, an industrialist affiliated with the Valmiki Gurupitha; and Valmiki Prasannananda Swamiji.
