Uday Kumar killed his grandmother, Rambayamma (80), in Rotary Nagar, Khammam. This tragic incident, which happened at midnight, has caused a great uproar in the locality. Rambayamma had three daughters and one son, all of whom were married and settled elsewhere. She was living alone in Rotary Nagar after her husband's death due to illness. Her son, who lives in Hyderabad, used to send her money for expenses, and she also received a monthly old-age pension.
