Khalistani Militant's Murder Case - Three Indians Arrested in Canada

In a significant development linked to the murder case of Khalistani militant Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Canadian authorities have detained three Indian nationals. The arrests, made last Friday, come as part of the ongoing investigation into Nijjar’s assassination in front of a Gurudwara in Surrey on June 18, 2023. The individuals, identified as Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karanpreet Singh (28), have been living in Canada as non-permanent residents for four to five years.

The situation has stirred diplomatic tensions between India and Canada following allegations by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggesting India's involvement in the killing. The Indian Foreign Ministry has vehemently dismissed these claims as baseless, urging Canada to provide substantive evidence to support their allegations. India has expressed readiness to cooperate with the investigation, provided credible proof is presented. The recent arrests have spotlighted the sensitive and complex nature of this international case.
