#KamalHaasan Missed Out on Rajinikanth's Super Hit Film 🎥

📰 Kamal Haasan, who recently captivated audiences with his negative role in Kalki 2898 AD, is set to have an even more significant and impactful role in the sequel. The film has been receiving widespread praise and breaking box office records. Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 is also slated for release soon, where he will appear in multiple get-ups under the direction of Shankar. The film is a sequel to the 1996 hit Indian.

In a recent interview, Kamal Haasan made some interesting revelations about missing out on a super hit film that eventually went to Rajinikanth. The film in question is Robo (released as Enthiran in Tamil), directed by Shankar, which released in 2010. Initially, Kamal Haasan was supposed to play the lead role alongside Preity Zinta, and his look for the film was even finalized.

During the interview, Kamal Haasan shared that he, Shankar, and writer Sujatha had discussed adapting the I, Robot novel into a film in the 1990s. Despite doing look tests, the project was shelved due to budget and remuneration issues. Kamal said, "At that time, considering the market conditions, it didn't seem right to proceed with the film. So, I opted out. However, Shankar didn't give up and later directed it with Rajinikanth, which turned out to be a massive success."

Robo went on to become a blockbuster, grossing over ₹300 crores at a time when ₹100 crores was considered a significant achievement. Kamal Haasan was also offered the villain role in the sequel, 2.0, which he declined. He explained, "Shankar approached me for the villain role in 2.0. I told him that I wanted to continue as a hero in the industry for a few more years."

Thus, Kamal Haasan missed the opportunity to be a part of these super hit films that elevated Rajinikanth's career to new heights.
