Prabhas fans have double the reason to celebrate today! Not only did the Darling star’s new movie with Hanu Raghavapudi kick off with a pooja ceremony, but the much-awaited official OTT release date for the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD has also been announced.
After a successful theatrical run, where the film completed 50 days by August 15, Kalki is now set to make its grand entry on digital platforms. Initially rumored for an August 23 release, the film will now be available for streaming a day earlier—on August 22. Amazon Prime Video has secured the digital streaming rights for the movie, while the Hindi version will be available on Netflix.
The announcement was made official by both Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, who shared new posters of the film on their social media channels, further fueling excitement among fans.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD features an all-star cast, including Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. The film also features Disha Patani, Shobana, Rajendra Prasad, and special appearances by RGV, Brahmanandam, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.
Produced by Ashwini Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner, the film had a massive budget of around ₹700 crores and has reportedly grossed over ₹1200 crores worldwide. If you missed watching Kalki in theaters or want to relive the experience, mark your calendars for August 22!
