Veteran actress Jyothika, who has been a prominent figure in the South Indian film industry for decades, recently opened up about her limited appearances in Bollywood. Despite starting her career in Bollywood, Jyothika faced challenges that hindered her opportunities in the Hindi film industry. In a recent interview, she shared some intriguing comments about not acting in Bollywood.
Jyothika recently starred alongside Ajay Devgan in the successful movie 'Shaitan,' and is now working with Rajkummar Rao in the upcoming Hindi film 'Srikanth.' Reflecting on her career, she noted that despite her early start in Bollywood, she didn't receive the same opportunities as others. "I started acting in South Indian movies 27 years ago and continued doing more films there. My first Hindi movie didn't succeed. It was a ready-made cinema, where success should have brought more opportunities," she explained.
She revealed that when she entered the film industry, most actresses were working with major production houses, which she believed impacted her chances. Despite being part of a big production, her film didn't perform well. "After that failure, I embraced South Indian cinema," said Jyothika. She also expressed gratitude for her journey, mentioning, "Bollywood people thought I came from South India and wasn't meant for Hindi movies. I have done wonderful films in the South, and I never stayed away from Hindi cinema intentionally, but no offers came."
