YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the YSR Congress Party, has filed a petition in the CBI Court seeking permission to travel abroad. On Tuesday, Jagan submitted his request, and the CBI has asked for time to file a counter. Consequently, the hearing on Jagan's petition has been postponed to tomorrow.
In a related case, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy also argued his petition in the court, and the verdict on his request has been deferred to August 30. Jagan has sought permission to travel to the UK in September, while Vijayasai Reddy has requested approval to visit Europe in September and October.
This isn't the first time Jagan has sought court permission for international travel. After the general elections in Andhra Pradesh concluded on May 13, Jagan took a 15-day trip abroad with his family. The Nampally CBI Court had granted him permission with certain conditions, allowing him to visit the UK, Switzerland, and France. This was Jagan's first foreign trip after his party's electoral defeat in Andhra Pradesh.
