Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza School Result in Over 100 Deaths 💥

The ongoing conflict between Israel and the Hamas militant group has intensified over the past ten months, with devastating consequences for civilians in Gaza. Recent airstrikes by Israeli forces on a school in eastern Gaza have resulted in the deaths of over 100 people, according to Palestinian news agency WAFA. The school was serving as a shelter for displaced individuals when it was targeted.

Escalation of Attacks on Schools

In the past week alone, Israel has conducted airstrikes on four different schools in Gaza. On August 4, an attack on two schools in Gaza City, which were housing displaced residents, led to 30 deaths and numerous injuries. Just a day prior, an assault on Hamama School claimed 17 lives. On August 1, an airstrike on Dalal al-Mughrabi School resulted in 15 fatalities. These four incidents have collectively resulted in 62 deaths.

Background of the Conflict

The conflict has its roots in a surprise attack by Hamas militants on October 7 last year, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Israelis. In retaliation, Israel has launched a series of military operations targeting Hamas strongholds in Gaza, aiming to dismantle the militant group's infrastructure. The Israeli military has focused its attacks on buildings suspected to be Hamas command and control centers.

Siege and Intense Military Operations

Gaza has been under siege from all directions, with Israel conducting air, ground, and naval operations. The Israeli forces have shown no hesitation in targeting schools and hospitals, suspecting them of harboring militants. The prolonged conflict has resulted in significant casualties and destruction across the region.

Over the last 10 months, it is estimated that Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of more than 40,000 Palestinians. The situation remains dire, with ongoing hostilities contributing to a humanitarian crisis in the region.
