đ Indian Railways transports millions of passengers daily across the country, making travel convenient and accessible. However, to improve travel experiences, passengers need streamlined access to essential services like ticket booking, PNR status updates, and train tracking. Currently, these services require multiple apps, causing inconvenience for travelers. To address this, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is set to launch a new Super App that will consolidate all these services in one platform. đą
Key Features of the Super App:
Train Ticket Booking: Passengers can conveniently book train tickets directly through the app, making the booking process more efficient. đŤ
PNR Status Updates: Users can check their ticket status by entering their PNR number, with instant updates on waitlist status, confirmation, and other details. đ˘
Live Train Tracking:Â The app will allow users to track the real-time location of their trains, including delays and arrival times, enhancing journey planning. đ
Online Food Ordering:Â Passengers can order food directly to their seats from an extensive menu, ensuring access to fresh and preferred meals throughout their journey. đą
Platform and General Ticket Booking: The app will also provide the option to purchase platform and general tickets online, reducing the need to wait in long queues at the station. đď¸
Expected Launch Date:
The IRCTC Super App is set to be launched by the end of December, providing travelers with an all-in-one solution for a seamless railway experience. đ
Compared to Current Apps:
Currently, the IRCTC Rail Connect app has over 100 million downloads, highlighting its popularity among railway users. However, with the Super App, IRCTC aims to integrate features from multiple apps (such as Rail Madad, UTS, and Nirikshan), simplifying access to a wide range of services.
