Indian-2, once one of the most anticipated pan-India movies, has turned into a major disaster. Despite the powerful combination of director Shankar and actor Kamal Haasan, the movie failed to create any significant hype even in its own language, Tamil. Viewers flocked to theaters expecting something unique but were left disappointed with a dull three-hour-long film.
From the first day, negative reviews started pouring in, heavily impacting box office collections. The movie couldn't sustain even through the weekend. In Telugu states, occupancy dropped below 30% on Sunday. Similarly, the film didn't make a significant impact in Tamil Nadu or other regions.
Post-weekend, the situation worsened for Indian-2. The film faced dire conditions at the box office due to minimal occupancy. On Monday, it failed to gross even 10 crores worldwide. In Tamil Nadu, the movie couldn't collect 2 crores, and occupancy dropped below 20%. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the movie's performance was even more dismal, failing to gross even 1 crore separately.
In North India, theaters running the movie saw little to no returns, barely covering maintenance costs. The overseas performance was equally disappointing. Overall, Indian-2 has been completely rejected by the audience, making it one of the all-time disasters in Indian cinema.
